Do you get satisfaction in doing commercial projects?

I just love to illustrate and commercial projects often push me in a direction of which I wouldn’t have thought on my own. I love the challenge of each one of it and it broadens my mind.

Throughout your career, what is the thing you are most proud of?

This is a good question. I not proud of a special project I did, but of the fact, that my work touches other people and makes something with them. I`m a illustration enthusiasts and I know the feeling, when you discover someone new and you are totally fascinated by its work. The fact that my work does this to someone is fantastic.

Besides your daily work, what other hobbies do you have? Can you share it with us?

I love to work at the screen printing studio. There I do works just for fun. For example printing some textiles or small numbers of zines. I also love to ride through Hamburg with my old Peugeot folding bike and explore new corners.

What things do you usually do to get inspirations?

I get my inspiration from anything and anywhere. I live in a big city and here you have the best characters running around on the streets. Also my desk is in front o window with a view to a very popular park here in Hamburg. If I get stuck I just stare outside and watch the people.

Throughout your career, what 5 lessons have you learned that you can share with other artists in the same industry.

1. get your work done on time 2. try out new things 3. don’t be to hard on yourself 4. share your work and ideas with other people 5. don’t take yourself to seriously.
