Turn any photo into a dot grid artwork with these Photoshop actions. You'll get great results with dots that change size. They get larger in brighter areas and smaller in darker areas. Free download available.
Step 14
I want to remove this part on carrot house. So I make a new layer with Clipping Mask for it and use Clone Tool ( hit S key) to clone over this part ( you can follow many good tutorials over the webs if you don't know how to use this tool).
Create a new layer ( Clipping Mask) and use soft white brush painting on the right side of carrot house. I set the mode as Overlay 60%:
I don't brighten the top as it's for roof.
Continue with a new layer ( Clipping Mask of course) and use white brush paint on the right side as shown below:
Apply Gassian Blur with 6 px and change the mode as Overlay 40%:
Step 15
To darken the bottom of this house and the grass part around it more, I make two new layers ( non-Clipping Mask). Use soft brush with color #d3ab8d and paint as shown below. Put the mode of them as Multipy 100%:
To add more light for the house ( as it catches light on the right side), I use Inner shadow effect. Right click carrot house layer, choose Blending Options:
Step 16
Open stock with roof. I only take the roof and position it on the top of carrot house:
Add layer mask and use hard black brush ( don't use soft one as it will leave a soft and unatural look) to erase unecessary parts:
Make a new layer under roof layer. Use soft black brush to paint under the bottom of the roof to make shadow on the house. Change opacity to 60%:
Step 17
Create some adjustment layers ( Clipping Mask) for the roof to make its color fit the rest of background.
Color Balance:
Levels:
Use brush with opacity 100% to erase the bottom and 50% opacity for the right side of this roof on Levels layer mask as I find it too saturated:
I make a new layer ( Clipping Mask) and take soft white brush to paint on the right side of roof and the edge of left side where light from sky comes to. Change the mode to Overlay 80%:
Step 18
Open stock with three carrots. Cut out the top of one of them, transform and place it on the top of the roof.
Use layer mask to hide some parts below:
Change its color by Color Balance layer with Clipping Mask:
Step 19
Create a new layer ( Clipping Mask) with Overlay mode and fill with 50% gray:
Use Dodge and Burn Tool with Midtones Range and Exposure about 30% to create some depth for this top as I find it flat. You can see how I use with Normal mode:
Overlay mode:
Apply Inner shadow effect to increase the light of this top:
Step 20
Open stock with door. Cut it out and place it in frontage of carrot house.
Create a new layer under door one. Load door selection as we 've done sometimes in previous steps and set feather as 3:
Fill this selection with black and we have shadow of this door on the house:
Add layer mask for this shadow and use brush to blur the top, bottom and on the edges of it :
Step 21
Add some adjustment layers ( Clipping Mask) to make door color look fit the carrot house.
Color Balance:
Hue/Saturation:
Step 22
Open rug stock. Isolate it from background, transform it and place it under door layers.
Call it "rug part 1".
Make a new layer above the rug one. Use any tools you like to make a selection as shown:
Fill it with color #1c2103:
Add layer mask for it and use grass brush to blend it with the grass ( like in step 12):
Name it "rug part 2".
Step 23
To make the rug look more realistic, I add shadow for it. Right click "rug part 1" layer, choose Blending options:
Make group for these rug layers ( remember to change the mode to Normal 100%). Add a Color Balance layer to change a bit of their color:

Hi Abby! You can click on the "Next Page" button to go to the next page. Or if you prefer to see it in a single page, click on the single page link.

I like how you warmed the grass into hills. Amazing!!
When I press R I get a pop up that says could not complete your request because it only works with opengl enabled document windows.
Go to Photoshop/Edit > Preferences > Performance. Enable the "Use Graphics Processor" option then click on Advance Settings to ensure it is enabled in there too.
If this option is grayed out, it could be because you need newer graphics drivers (download from Nvidia/AMD's website) or because your video card isn't supported.
awesome!!
Cute :)
