Could you tell us more about your art and design background and the reason behind of you becoming a graphic designer?

Ever since I was a little kid, I have always done a lot of arts related stuff. Being creative and designing is what I am most passionate about, so it was a natural choice for me to get a higher education degree in design and turn my interests into a career.

Your photo manipulation for the Disney characters is very impressive and incredible. How did you come up with the ideas in creating them? What inspired you?

The idea for doing these characters basically came out of nowhere; one day (back in 2011) I just thought about exploring what the character of Ursula from the Little Mermaid could look like in real life. Having been grown up with a lot of these characters, the sense of nostalgia made it such a fascinating and a fun personal project to explore and carry on with. Also, I have always been interested in character design, as well as the way people look and what makes them unique in their appearances. So I was inspired by the idea of recreating these characters that we all know and love, in a way I would imagine them to look like if they were "more real," while still staying somewhat true to the unrealistic quirks in their original character designs.

What are you currently fascinated by and how does it affect your work?

As of late, I have been paying more and more attention to fashion and interior design. I guess it makes me more understanding of design and style in all areas of life, not just graphic design. I often find myself trying to convey the same feeling one can get from a cool interior or an outfit into the work that I do within graphics.

As an artist, do you have any self-imposed rules that you live by?

I try not to restrict myself with rules, but rather to "listen" to my visual eye to say if something works or not.

5

How would you describe your approach to design?

Again, I do not live by a certain idea or an approach. I try to take in a project and find the relevant set of information, inspiration and way of thinking to approach the project at hand.

What kind of design project are you most interested in? Why?

I am fascinated by the idea of style and the visual world conveying a certain feeling. Because of this, and my highly visual approach to things, I find myself being most drawn to projects where I can design and create inspiring or beautiful visual worlds to support a bigger picture. So for example branding, creating visual identities and art directing are closest to my heart.
