Late twentieth-century machines have made thoroughly ambiguous the difference between natural and artificial, mind and body, self-developing and externally designed, and many other distinctions that used to apply to organisms and machines. Our machines are disturbingly lively, and we ourselves frighteningly inert. In this photoshop tutorial we will learn how to create a cyborg scene, First we add cyborg and replace a head. Next blended it with Adjustment Layers, then we added glow all over his body. Also added drone, cables, particles and lens flare. Finally, we use Camera Raw Filter.

Step 1

Now, let’s start by creating a new image file, go to the Menu bar and click File > New, and then input the following values on their respective fields

  • Preset: Custom
  • Width: 3080px
  • Height: 3850px
  • Resolution: 300px
  • Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit
  • Background Contents: Transparent

Step 2

Now, place Cyborg Go to File > Place and select Cyborg, then place it to our work canvas and position the image with the transform tool (Ctrl / Cmd + T). Hold Alt + Shift and rasterize like the image below. In Photoshop CC only hold Alt to rasterize all sides together.

Step 3

Next we will open another cyborg. After you open the image, use Quick Selection Tool(W) and select only head. After the selection area has been created, simply copy (Ctrl / Cmd + C) and Paste (Ctrl / Cmd + V)  it to our work canvas. Then position the image with the transform tool (Ctrl / Cmd + T). Hold Alt + Shift and resterize like image below. In Photoshop CC only hold Alt to resterize al sides together.

Next need to blend it with body. Go to Image > Adjustments > Match Color

Set Value:

  • Luminance: 110
  • Color Intensity: 200
  • Face 27

  • Layer: Cyborg

Step 4

Add Adjustment Layer "Curves" and press Ctrl/Cmd + I to invert. Then use Brush Tool(B) Soft Round with foreground color white and paint left side of head.

Step 5

Add Adjustment Layer "Hue/Saturation" Opacity set to 50%.

Now put all layer to Group. Select first layer then hold Shift and click on last layer and press Ctrl/Cmd + G.

Step 6

Add Adjustment Layer "Curves" and press Ctrl/Cmd + I to invert. Then use Brush Tool(B) Soft Round with foreground color white and paint window behind cyborg.
